Only a 6-minute drive from Pentewan Sands, discover one of the most mysterious estates in England. Abandoned during WW1, the estate was rediscovered in 1990 and became Europe’s largest garden restoration project. Cornwall Football Golf

Lappa Valley
Discover a hidden world of trains at Lappa Valley (30 minutes away). Newquay Zoo
With hundreds of animals and lots of amazing plants across 13 acres of lush sub-tropical gardens, Newquay Zoo (40 minutes away) is located just a short walk away from Newquay town centre. The Cornish Seal Sanctuary

Paradise Park
Around 1 hour away, this wildlife sanctuary and tourist attraction has 17 acres to explore. The park is home to over 1,200 birds (including around 700 parrots), mammals including Red Pandas, Red Squirrels, Asian Otters, Harvest Mice plus the farm animals too. There's even an indoor Junglebarn Play Centre with drop slides and climbing frames!
Towns by the Sea

Mevagissey
Just a 10 minute drive away, Mevagissey Harbour is an idyllic Cornish fishing village filled with unique shops, galleries, hidden nooks and plenty of places to pick up fish and chips or an ice cream. Wander down the pier or take a boat trip around the bay - from thrilling fishing voyages to relaxing dolphin spotting.

Charlestown
Rich with a history of pirates, trade and sailing, the port of Charlestown (15-minute drive) is often used as a filming set. Doctor Who, Poldark, Alice in Wonderland and Pirates of the Caribbean have all been filmed there! Explore the harbour shops and cafes, visit the museum, and lounge on the beach.

Fowey
Fowey (35 minute drive) is a picturesque town sitting right on the sea. Once home to Cornish writer Daphne Du Maurier (creator of ‘Rebecca’ and Alfred Hitchcock’s ‘The Birds’), there's plenty of history to uncover. Explore the array of shops, cafes, pubs and activities, including fishing, golf and horse riding.

Cornwall’s only city, Truro, is only 35 minutes away. Ideal for all weathers, the city boasts a selection of high-street stores, markets and independently owned treasures. If you’re looking to be entertained, the city has a cinema, VR gaming centre, museum, theatre, picturesque gardens, and the stunning Truro Cathedral.

St Austell Brewery
Only 10 minutes away, take a tour of St Austell Brewery and taste their diverse selection of locally brewed ales and ciders. See how your favourite beverages are made, learn the history of Cornish brewing, and try something new in their on-site pub and shop.

Lanhydrock House
Around 30 minutes away, this perfectly preserved Victorian country house has miles of gardens and woodland to explore. Wander around the house and learn its secrets, before exploring the grounds with a picnic. This is a lovely place to visit on those rare cloudy days!

Pendennis Castle, Falmouth
Sitting on a headland looking out over the coast, this castle is one of Henry VIII's finest seaside fortresses. Around 1 hour away, the castle has a fun family trail, exhibitions, soft play room and acres of green space. Make the most of the day and explore the town of Falmouth, within walking distance.

Set in the stunning port of Falmouth, this multi award-winning museum has 15 galleries, over five floors beautifully illustrating the past, present and future of Britain.

Starting from the entrance of our park, the famous South West Coast path is rated one of the top walks to be found anywhere in the world by Lonely Planet. With panoramic sea views, hidden coves and peaceful places to rest and have a picnic, there’s no better way to experience the Cornish coastline!

Bodmin Moor
Miles of rugged moorland, tors and breathtaking view points await at this mysterious part of Cornwall. Famous for the mythical 'Beast of Bodmin', and thought to be the resting place of the sword of Excalibur, this stretch of countryside is steeped in history and legend. With rivers winding across the land, ruins of old mines, and even waterfalls, there's so much to explore. Around 45 minutes away along the A30, why not make a day of it and visit Bodmin Jail too?

St Michael's Mount
Around 1 hour away, you'll find this magical attraction which changes with the tides. At low tide, you can walk from Marazion town (filled with quaint shops and pubs) across the causeway to the island which houses this breathtaking monument. At high tide, a boat service is in place, offering a completely different experience. It's free to walk across and visit the island, and a separate admission to the castle can be bought online (recommended) or at the gates. This is a must-see when visiting Cornwall!

Tintagel
Home to Tintagel Castle, home to the legendary King Arthur, this stunning town is perfect for a day out. Wander around the little shops, visit the beach and Merlin's cave, or pay to visit the ruined castle, accessible by a picturesque bridge or a staircase in the cliff! Around a 1 hour drive, this is a great way to see Cornwall on a day of adventure!

How far is Pentewan Sands Holiday Park from the beach?
Our holiday park is located on its own private beach! All of our accommodation options are within walking distance of the sea. If you're looking for our a luxurious beachside stay, our popular beachfront pitches and beach houses are located directly by the beach.
What is included in the price of my holiday?
If you are staying at Pentewan Sands Holiday Park, you'll have unlimited access to our all-weather leisure facility, The Seahorse, which has two, heated indoor swimming pools and an amusement arcade. We have an array of facilities including shower and toilet amenities, on-site shop and plenty of eateries for you to enjoy. View all of our facilities here.
If you are staying in one of our holiday homes we provide duvets, duvet covers, pillows, pillowcases, and one sheet per bed free of charge. Additional linen can be provided if necessary. Please be aware that Sat Nav devices tend to take you down a network of single-track Cornish lanes; which can be unsuitable for larger vehicles. We therefore advise that you travel via St Austell, and follow the directions as below.
From St Austell
Take the B3273 towards Mevagissey.

There is a bus service that stops outside Pentewan Sands Holiday Park that links us to Mevagissey, Fowey, Charlestown and the mainline train stations of Par and St Austell with connections all over Cornwall.
You can fly to Newquay, Cornwall, directly from several UK airports including Birmingham, Belfast and London.
What times of year is the site open?
