Cheers to Cornwall

Cheers to Cornwall

Raise a glass and say cheers to the fantastic local drink producers who are winning awards and putting Cornwall on the map for beer, cider, fizz, spirits and so much more besides. These are just some of our favourite Cornish tipples. Keep an eye out for them as you explore Cornwall or put them to taste test from the comfort of your pitch.

Best of the beers

Home-grown by independents right across the county; beer, ale and lager is in bountiful supply in Cornwall. Whether you try the sweet nectar of a micro-brewery or opt for the fruits of a Cornish heavy-weight that has hit the big time, whatever’s in your glass, the taste of Cornwall will be in every drop. Sharp’s, Skinners, St Austell Brewery, they’re all Cornish and proud while at the other end of the spectrum there are more small and mighty breweries than you can shake a stick at. We’re big fans of Rebel Brewery, Harbour Brewing Company and Keltek Brewery.

A glass of something sparkly

Camel Valley Vineyard positioned on sun drenched slopes in north Cornwall leads the wake of Cornish vineyards doing great things. They’ve got countless awards to their name and are served in all the top restaurants but we think a glass is best served with a Cornish coastal view. And the same goes for Polgoon Vineyard & Orchard in far flung Penzance and Knightor Winery and Restaurant positioned just up the road from us in the shadows of the Eden Project – grab a bottle of their finest to enjoy under the stars and add a touch of luxe to your camping experience. All three also fling open their doors for vineyard tours and tastings.

Proper Cornish cyder

Deep in the heart of the Cornish countryside near Newquay, Healeys Cornish Cyder Farm has been making the most of their orchards for over 25 years by producing an award-winning range of ciders, including the famous Ratler Cornish Cloudy Cyder. It also turns its hand to wine and spirits and is a great place to visit with tours available year-round, as well as farm yard animals to meet, orchards to explore and the most amazing Cornish Cream Teas.

The spirit of Cornwall

On the wild coast of north Cornwall a small, independent distillery has popped up and in just a handful of years has gone from zero to hero with the title of the world’s best gin under its belt. Specialising in handcrafting gin in tiny batches the good old-fashioned way, Tarquin’s Cornish Gin is all about keeping things authentic and its top-notch quality shows in every mouthful. Gin-lovers the world over are going crazy for it so it would be rude not to try it when you’re in its homeland.
