Celebrating 75 years from lockdown
By Pentewan Sands on the May 04th, 2020 in
The beginning of 2020 has certainly been rocky to say the least! Now that we move into May and into our 7th week of lockdown, we’ve been thinking a lot about our current situation and how much the world has changed over the last couple of months. We are missing our visitors very much at the moment and the excited hustle and bustle of holiday makers arriving to start their Cornwall getaways. But the quiet and peace on site at the moment has given us all a chance to slow down and take some time to look after ourselves.
Since we closed our doors to the public, we have been inundated with positive messages from our visitors telling us how much they support our decisions and that they can’t wait to join us again. It’s been heart-warming receiving your stories and memories of your previous stays here and has kept us smiling.
This Friday 8th May 2020 sees the 75th anniversary of VE Day, a day of celebration and remembrance across the country. This year also marks our 75th birthday at Pentewan Sands and the bank holiday weekend would have been our chance to celebrate these two milestones. Although we are sad that our birthday plans have had to be postponed, we can’t help feeling positive that the country will get through this difficult time as it has in the past, and it won’t be long before we can celebrate together with our loved ones and enjoy some Cornish air by the sea.
We hope you all enjoy the bank holiday from home – stay safe everyone!
