Things to do in Cornwall
Located on the beautiful South Cornish coast, our park is the perfect base to explore all that our Duchy has to offer! Take a look at some of our top picks of things to do in Cornwall...
Fun for all the Family

The Seahorse at Pentewan Sands is free to use for our guests! With two indoor swimming pools, fun flumes and a whirlpool bath for the adults, you'll have plenty to do. Right next door to the pool is our indoor amusements arcade, perfect for young and young at heart.
The Lost Gardens of Heligan are only a 6 minute drive from Pentewan Sands, or a 2 minute walk from our sister park, Heligan Caravan and Camping site!

One of the most mysterious estates in England, the gardens were abandoned during WW1 when the workers went away to war. In 1990, the estate was rediscovered, and became Europe’s largest garden restoration project. Now the grounds are bursting with plants, wildlife and farm animals waiting to be discovered! Little ones will love the play parks and the rope bridge over the jungle.
Lappa Valley (35 minute drive) is a secret world of play and trains! Ride around on the trains, discover their adventure parks and golf, and let off steam around the indoor play centre.
Cornwall Football Golf is a fun-filled day for all ages. Just a 15 minute drive from Pentewan Sands, this hilarious game uses the same rules as golf, but the course is bigger - and so are the balls!
Beach Days
With Pentewan Sands Beach on your doorstep, every day is a beach day! If you’re looking to explore further afield, Cornwall is bursting with beaches to explore.
Carlyon Bay (a 15 minute drive) is one of the largest beaches on the South Coast, perfect for swimming, rockpooling and bodyboarding.

Over on the North Coast, Newquay’s Fistral Beach is ideal for surfing, Bedruthan Steps has a spectacular hiking trail, and Perranporth has a natural seawater swimming pool by the shore.
Adventures for the Adults
Take a tour of St Austell Brewery and taste their diverse selection of locally brewed ales and ciders! Just a 12 minute drive away, this is the perfect day out for any beer lover. See how your favourite beverages are made, learn the history of Cornish brewing, and try something new in their on-site pub and shop.

Discover the dark history of Bodmin Jail (35 minutes drive). Wander the haunted innards of this 18-century prison and uncover the spooky mysteries of the inmates and their crimes. Check out their new ‘Dark Walk’ experience - it’s not for the faint hearted!
Towns with a View

Just a 10 minute drive away from Pentewan Sands, Mevagissey Harbour is an idyllic Cornish fishing village filled with unique shops, galleries, hidden nooks and plenty of places to pick up fish and chips or an ice cream. Wander down the pier or take a boat trip around the bay - from thrilling fishing voyages to relaxing dolphin spotting.

Rich with a history of pirates, trade and sailing, the port of Charlestown (15 minute drive) is often used as a filming set. Doctor Who, Poldark, Alice in Wonderland and Pirates of the Caribbean have all been filmed there! Explore the harbour shops and cafes, visit the museum, and lounge on the beach.
Fowey is another picturesque town sitting right on the sea; once home to Cornish writer Daphne Du Maurier (creator of ‘Rebecca’ and Alfred Hitchcock’s ‘The Birds’). Explore the array of shops, cafes, pubs and activities, including fishing, golf and horse riding.
A Splash of Culture
Cornwall’s only city, Truro, is around a 30 minute drive away. Ideal for all weathers, the city boasts a selection of high street stores, markets and independently owned treasures.

If you’re looking to be entertained, the city has a cinema, VR gaming centre, museum, theatre, picturesque gardens, and Truro Cathedral, which is free to enter.
If you're searching for the perfect base to explore these stunning places around Cornwall, look no further than Pentewan Sands Holiday Park - the only 5-Star Holiday Park situated on it's own private beach.
