AT PENTEWAN SANDS

Stylish new holiday home
If you like a bit of luxury while on holiday, you’ll absolutely love our brand new Lookout holiday home. Chic, sophisticated and heaped with architectural style, it boasts top-notch home-from-home touches and sunshine-bright pops of colour, not to mention a great position on site!

More accessible places to stay
In 2020 we’re welcoming the beautiful wheelchair friendly holiday home into our fold meaning we’ll have not one but two accessible holiday homes. Packed with thoughtful features, from wide doorways and a spacious layout to a wet room, it’s a retreat where everyone can relax and enjoys a peaceful position nestled in our Willows Woodland area on plot number 36.

We turn 75
Can you believe that in 2020 we’ll be celebrating our 75th year? Since opening in 1945 Pentewan Holiday Park (and our sister site, Heligan Camping which opened in 2003) has been in the hands the Tremayne/Willis family and we’ve grown to become one of the most family-friendly and loved parks in Cornwall. We’re pulling out all the stops to mark this exciting milestone and can’t wait to share more details soon.

The beach is calling
Life at Pentewan revolves around our idyllic private beach and we can guarantee that 2020 won’t be any different. From sun-kissed days playing on the golden sands to sundowner barbeques and fun on the water, Pentewan Sands beach is our sanctuary, our playground and our world – make it yours in 2020. We’ll save a spot for you to lay your towel!

Let us entertain you
Holidays are all about relaxing so we take the hard work out of chilling out as a family. From an indoor water world, complete with flume and whirlpool bath, to an amusement arcade and indoor soft-play zone, we’ve thought of everything so you don’t have to. And have we mentioned our tennis courts, nearby bike hire, beautiful children’s play area and watersports? Oh, and let’s not forget our packed schedule of entertainment during school holidays. Now this is what you call a holiday!

NEARBY IN CORNWALL

See the 2020 Tour of Britain
If you’re a fan of cycling or love the buzz of a big sporting event, put September 6th 2020 in your diary to see Cornwall play host to the opening stage of the 2020 Tour of Britain. Setting off from Penzance Promenade, the 120 or so world-class cyclists will weave their way through Cornwall passing iconic landmarks and picturesque spots before peddling through St Austell town centre and onwards to the Eden Project to do a circuit of the site. The 105 mile route will finish in Bodmin and comes just 4.4 miles from our front door making Pentewan Sands an ideal place to stay - in fact, you can even cycle to one of the viewing points from the park.

Check out the route and keep an eye on the details as they are announced here.

Be among the first to explore underground tunnels
Created as part of St Austell’s china clay industry during the reign of Edward VII in the early 1900s, a network of underground tunnels lie beneath the Shipwreck and Heritage Centre in Charlestown and run to the historic harbour. Having fallen out of use due to improvements in road and rail infrastructure, as well as the slow demise of St Austell’s China Clay Industry, the tunnels lay quiet and unused…until that was, they were restored and reopened for fascinating tours in October.

Visit in 2020 and be among the first to explore the network of tunnels. Follow the original cart tracks, touch the walls where the historic white china clay dust still remains and look up to see the metal chutes which would provide a channel to transfer the prized product.
